Set amidst an urban context, this multi-generational home offers a balance of simplicity and complexity. The fa├žade, modest in form, makes a bold statement with a vertically laid Iron Ash timber box projected towards the street, providing weather protection. This striking design element, complemented by commercial windows that capture light, aluminium louvre screens for summer shading, and steel outriggers bearing a floating galvanised metal skillion roof, all combine to make an intriguing streetscape.

Guests are greeted by a 2.7m high custom Victorian Ash shiplap timber door adorned with a bespoke 250mm diameter steel handle. Upon entry, a breezeway offers a fascinating blend of materials like Iron Ash timber, hanging tension wires, a growing vine, custom galvanised steel gate, feature bricks, aluminium windows, and Western Red Cedar battens. The foyer unfolds into a dramatic double-height entry, flooded with natural and artificial light, and reveals a solid timber stair leading to the upper level.

The spacious kitchen, meals, and family area is pushed back from the northern boundary, covered by a skillion roof with high level windows allowing maximum light penetration. This light creates warmth as it interacts with the bespoke joinery and live edge recycled timber shelving – the heart of the home.

The ensuite continues the home’s design language with the use of timber and the repetition of circular mosaic feature tiling. This cohesive design element, paired with expansive glazing for natural light, creates an atmosphere of luxury and tranquility.

Like the ensuite, the main bathroom is brightened by generous glazing and features a consistent design theme with timber highlights and mosaic tiling, radiating opulence and coherence.

The children’s wing is thoughtfully designed, complete with bedrooms, a large lounge room, and study nook. The secret passageway adds an element of fun and adventure, embodying the spirit of modern family living.

Every space in the home is used efficiently, including utility areas and WC. The same attention to detail and high quality seen in the main areas extends to these functional spaces.

Adjacent to the meals area, commercial sliding doors open to a polished concrete alfresco, seamlessly merging the indoors with the outdoors. The sparkling swimming pool, adorned with the home’s signature circular mosaic feature tiling, elevates the outdoor living area, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and entertainment.
